Description

The Cockburn Sound ‘policy area’ includes Cockburn Sound and its catchment and is the area to which the State Environmental (Cockburn Sound) Policy applies. The Cockburn Sound ‘protected area’ defines the marine environment of the policy area within which there are spatially defined areas where either a high, moderate or low level of ecological protection apply. These boundaries were defined by the Environmental Protection Authority and included as schedules in the SEP which was endorsed by the State Government in 2015.
